1 Photo credits na Vicki Pakele The Science of Semiotics: communication through signs and symbols. Hieroglyphs, petroglyphs, geoglyphs and megaliths are global forms of messages left from those who walked our planet long before us. In alignment with this science is Piko ʻo Kūkaniloko. Symbols left to us on the faces of our pōhaku not only reveal through their embedded images but expand their stories when in reflection of the elements of Mother Nature. The science of semiotics is enhanced by positions of the sun, the moon, stars, constellations and planets. Further complimented by the rain, the shadows cast, the time of day, cardinal directions and human perception. Inaudibly, they echo the moʻolelo traditional comprehension - of the seen and unseen of our Ka Poʻe Kahiko. The generational continuum awaits this wisdom and knowledge. Our Piko Listening Journeys answer their petition. ALOHA is forever...and FOREVER is the old way of our ancients...eō mai la k18... Dr. Verlieann Malina-Wright brought her guests Tania Wolfgramm and her husband, Wikuki Kingi from Aotearoa for a Piko Listening Journey with kia i Tom Lenchanko.
